Tron’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Justin Sun, is a man, who gives back as good as he gets. Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum has also a penchant for aiming barbs at competitors, occasionally. So recently, when a Twitter user shared Buterin’s none too flattering opinion of Tron, Sun came back with a witty repartee.

A Twitter user Misha Lederman, who works with Tron said, “Vitalik: I’ll lose certain hope in humanity if #TRON usurps #Ethereum 1: It’s not a question of if, but when #TRX overtakes #ETH; 2: All metrics point to TRON; DApp usage, speed, low cost, TPS & @BitTorrent; 3: No need to lose faith in humanity @VitalikButerin, only in @Ethereum.”

Not willing to let that go, Sun said, “When #TRON succeed, we will build a monument in memory of #ethereum! @VitalikButerin will be remembered for his tremendous contribution in #blockchain industry! #TRX #BTT.”

This is not the first time, that the duo have traded barbs at each other. Earlier, Vitalik Buterin had dissed the media for taking his words out of context and on that occasion, had taken a potshot at Sun as well.

In September, he had said, “To be clear, I never said that there is “no room for growth” in the crypto ecosystem. I said there is no room for *1000x price increases*. A 1000x price increase from today means $200T in crypto, or ~an entire 70% of today’s global wealth being in crypto. What I *actually* said is that, because large portions of the population have already heard of crypto, further growth of crypto in any sense must come from *depth* (ie. actual usage), and not bringing in more attention.”

After continuing in a similar vein, 5-6 tweets later he had added, “Me: obviously, let’s be realistic, the entire world wealth is not going to turn into cryptocurrencies…
Media: VITALIK IS A PESSIMIST!!!!!1!!1! Guys, if you spin things this way you’re *incentivizing* people to act more like Justin Sun.”

While all this banter is in good faith, sometimes, it pits the respective followers against each other and they miss the point about this being just a joke.
