WikiLeaks Shop, a franchise outlet of the vigilante group, Wikileaks announced that they have started accepting Litecoin.
The Shop saw itself in the eye of a storm when it announced earlier this week, that cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase had reportedly terminated their account. Although WikiLeaks Shop claimed that it was unprovoked, Coinbase in an email had said, that Wikileaks’ account had engaged in prohibited use in violation of their Terms of Service and they regretted to inform that Wikileaks would no longer be granted access to their platform.
WikiLeaks Shop has recovered fairly quickly from the rebuff. On Wednesday, it announced that it would now be accepting Litecoin as a mode of payment. Currently, the other coins that are accepted by the company are, Bitcoin, ZCash, Monero and Ethereum.
The news was met with a lot of fanfare and the official handle of Litecoin tweeted, “We got you fam”. However, despite questioning, WikiLeaks has not revealed which exchange they have tied up with. They just asked users to choose the CoinPayments NET Gateway at checkout.
