Cryptocurrency exchange, Zebpay announced on Thursday that they are accepting INR deposits through Unified Payment Interface or UPI.
In a statement, they said, “We have now started INR deposits via UPI. You can send money to our registered banks using any of the UPI supported apps like Tez, PayTM, and PhonePe.” They also cautioned users to use IMPS option only to enter UPI reference number. They further instructed users to add UPI reference number and attach screenshot in-app after UPI deposit.
The exchange provided steps to deposit INR to the company’s account through Tez, a prominent Google-based UPI. After downloading the app from Google Play Store or the App store, a user can click on a new tab to add Zebpay’s account number. Next, the user will need to click on Zebpay’s account number to transfer the number.
Following which the user will need to enter the amount they wish to transfer to Zebpay account from their bank account linked to Tez app. The user must ensure the amount transferred is as per our minimum and maximum transfer limits. Next, the user must enter his/her PIN to complete the transaction. After the transaction is processed, the user will receive a confirmation of the same.
The user, before depositing with the exchange, needs to be aware of the different banks that are associated with Zebpay. Three banks namely Indian Overseas Bank, Central Bank of India and Bandhan Bank support payments in favour of the cryptocurrency exchange. As recently as last month, the exchange had launched ethereum trading.
