Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, announced on Thursday, that it was all set to support EOS cryptocurrency. In a tweet, it said, “EOS is launching at http://coinbase.com and in the iOS and Android apps within the next 15 minutes. You may need to update your app to properly buy, sell, convert, send, receive, or store EOS. We will update when EOS is fully live.”

One of the most noteworthy things about EOS is that it is one of the most decentralized blockchain networks out there. Coinbase said, “EOS will be available for customers in most jurisdictions, but will not initially be available for residents of the United Kingdom or the state of New York. Additional jurisdictions may be added at a later date.”

A news portal, Cryptopolitan speculated that support for EOS by Coinbase right before 1st June indicates that something bigger and better is yet to be revealed. As 1st June is supposedly going to be a big day for Block.one; the open-source software publisher that bought over twenty million dollars ($20 million) worth of EOS RAM, previously has been giving clues about making a big announcement on June 1.

While EOS has worked hard to establish that it is decentralized, some factions in the ecosystem have had reservations. Joseph Lubin, the co-founder of Ethereum had said, “How about EOS? As has been debated endlessly, a platform controlled by 21 crypto bros is just not all that decentralized. They can collude and censor if they wish. Governments and other well resourced actor can bribe them or force them to act against their will and against the well being and the security of the people using the platform…I can imagine EOS being used for some games, but not even games that have high value tokens. It is too easy to organize to steal value on this platform.”
