Earlier in July, a chargesheet was put out by the Pune Police Cyber Cell against Amit Bhardwaj, the mastermind behind the GainBitcoin scam and CoinBank.
However, in a shocking revelation, the chargesheet has named several eminent Bollywood stars who were also a part of promoting GainBitcoin at various conferences, held by Bhardwaj. Actors such as Sunny Leone, Arti Chabria, Prachi Desai, Karishma Tanna, among others.
According to a source, there was a mega conference organized by GainBitcoin on November 9 2017. As a preview, there are videos on the Internet promoting the GainBitcoin company and actors speaking to camera promoting the company and the event.
The chargesheet that Crypto-News India has access to, said Bhardwaj had a company called ABC company which is located in Jumeira Lake Tower, Dubai and between January/February 2018, he earned close to 10 million AED (approx- Rs 17 crore). Apart from that he had an office at Marine Princess Tower where he had earned 1.2 million AED (approximately Rs 2 crore 12 lakh). He had also put down significant amount to buy a flat in Burj Khalifa. The amount disclosed was 3 million AED which is Rs 5 core and 10 lakh).
The source whose identity has been withheld by Crypto-News India, to protect his privacy said, “Around 250 people were invited to celebrate GainBitcoin and the celebrities mentioned in the chargesheet were present at an upscale hotel in Dubai.”
He voiced out his belief that the celebrities may also have been paid in the bitcoin, that was, technically not Amit Bhardwaj’s to give away.
The chargesheet further mentioned that apart from Amit’s partners and family memebers such as Ajay Bharadwaj, Vivek Bharadwaj. Rupesh Singh, Manu Sharma, Pankaj Aadalakha, Ajay Mithor, Kaka Rawade, Sanket Moro, Hemant Bhope, Raju Motewar, Balaji Panchal have all been named as accomplices. They were some of the ‘agents’ who worked to recruit and lure more people into the pyramid scheme. At the moment, all of them have been arrested.
Others such as Darwin Lab, Nikunj Jain and Sahil Baghla, are also currently in police custody. The trio were handling MCap tokens and Coinbank (Bhardwaj’s brainchild). Ayush Warshne, another accomplice, is currently absconding.
Not just Pune, complaints have been filed against different individuals working in his company from all over the country. For instance in Kolkata a First Information Report (FIR) names Bhardwaj’s closest aides, Ranjeet Saxena and Sandeep Singh.
So far, more than 200 witnesses have been summoned by the Pune Police, for the case.
