This is something which has been awaited for a very long time, and finally, it seems that the time for it to happen is approaching. Last time when Coinbase talked about its IPO was back in 2017. At that time company’s COO Asiff Hirji had said:
“The most obvious path for Coinbase is for us to go public at some point.”
But that didn’t happen till date, and we didn’t even come to know when did the buzz die. Now, however, Ran Neuner of CNBC has raised the subject once again, and he’s claiming that he has got some details about an IPO that Coinbase may be planning internally in near future. He is going to reveal those details today at his show CryptoTrader. He said on Twitter:
“CNBC Cryptotrader exposes details of the Coinbase IPO raise tomorrow on a Cryptotrader exclusive.”
Most recently Coinbase became a certified custodian in New York, which makes it a bank-like regulated business. We tried reaching out to the company, but they didn’t respond to our queries. It will now be interesting to see what information Ran has got to share about this possible Coinbase IPO. We’ll keep our eyes on his CryptoTrader show and will share more details as he reveals them.
